The Ramada Express Hotel Casino recently announced Supervisors of the Year honors. These crew members are supreme examples of the “Ramada Express Team Commitment” and were honored by George Stadler, President and General Manager, Ramada Express, along with fellow crew members and guests at a reception sponsored by the Ramada Express Hotel Casino. Each winner received an impressive package of appreciation including an engraved plaque; a generous cash award; luggage; one extra week of vacation; two nights at the Tropicana, Las Vegas with Follies tickets; four tickets to a Ramada Express concert of choice; dinner or Sunday Brunch at Passaggio Italian Gardens for four; dinner for two at the Steakhouse; Parlor Car Suite at the Ramada Express for one night; and a special parking space. Patricia Nothstein, Casino Audit Manager, was commended for her dedication to accuracy. In fact, she was an integral player in helping Ramada Express receive a perfect score on the recent 3 year Gaming Control Board audit. Jack Pappas, Executive Director of Finance, had nothing but praise for Nothstein. “I am impressed by her accuracy and dependability. She is a true gem and asset to the accounting department.” Gene Dessureault, Poker Floor Supervisor, joined the Ramada Express in 1993 as a dealer. In just eight short months he was promoted to full-time Floor Supervisor. Dessureault’s dedication and winning personality have impressed crew members and passengers. Lisa McBrayer, Executive Director of Table Games, said, “Gene has an incredible wealth of knowledge which gave us great confidence when we opened our poker room this year. Because of him, it’s one of the best rooms on the river.” Kevin Blossom, Front Services Manager, became a Ramada Express crew member in 2004. He quickly took on the role of organizing and managing the front desk services, including valet and the bell desk. Mark Bryant, Vice President of Hotel Operations and Entertainment, commented that “Kevin performs above and beyond to get the job done. From day one, he’s jumped in with both feet.” Darleen Gifford, Shift Manager for Carnegie’s Dining Car and Tularosa Cantina, has been with Ramada Express for three years. Tim Blessing, Vice President of Food and Beverage, said, “Darleen is always dependable and truly cares. She is consistent in every aspect of food and beverage.” In addition to recognizing the Supervisors of the Year, Crew Members of the Quarter were also honored. 24 crew members received five, ten or fifteen-year pins at the reception, and 36 crew member promotions were announced. Special awards were also given out to nine crew members who completed supervisory and management training during the year. The Supervisors of the Year reflect all five of the Aztar qualities—a friendly smile, a cheerful greeting, an outgoing personality, a team commitment, and a dedication to service. They consistently demonstrate these attributes and inspire those they supervise to do the same. For complete information about Ramada Express Hotel Casino, visit www.ramadaexpress.com.
